OUR STORY
LETTER FROM THE FOUNDER
My name is James Carter. Most folks know me as “Iron Wolf.”
I'm 78 years old now. I've got more gray in my beard than I care to admit, hands that don't work quite as fast as they used to, and memories from Vietnam that still visit me when the house gets quiet.
I served my country because I believed in something bigger than myself. I believed in duty, brotherhood, and the promise that we would always look after our own.
But when I came home, I learned something they don't teach you in basic training.
Sometimes the hardest battles begin after the fighting stops.
For years, I struggled with PTSD. Sleepless nights. Memories I couldn't shake. Days when being around people felt harder than being alone.
I knew other veterans going through the same thing. Good men and women who had given everything they had, only to come home and feel forgotten.
Some lost their marriages. Some lost their jobs. Some lost the roof over their heads.
And some never made it home from the war inside their own minds.
That stayed with me.
How Praising Patriots Began
I've always been better with my hands than with words.
Working at my little bench, braiding cord, fitting metal clasps, and putting together pieces of jewelry gave me something to focus on when my thoughts got heavy.
At first, I was just making things for myself and a few old buddies.
A bracelet with an American flag. A red cord to remember those still deployed. A cross to remind a friend that faith can carry you through the darkest nights.
Nothing fancy. Just honest pieces that meant something.
Then I started thinking.
What if these little pieces could do something bigger?
What if every bracelet, necklace, and chain could help remind someone that our veterans still need us?
That's the idea behind Praising Patriots.
More Than Something You Wear
When you put on one of our pieces, I want it to mean something.
An American flag bracelet isn't just about patriotism. It's about remembering the people who stood beside us.
A R.E.D. bracelet isn't just red cord. It's a reminder of every man and woman still serving far from home.
A cross necklace can be a quiet reminder to hold on to faith.
And our warrior pieces are reminders of courage, discipline, and the strength to keep going when life gets hard.
I believe jewelry should be built to last, made to be worn, and carry a story worth telling.
But more than anything, I believe it should stand for something.
No Veteran Should Fight Alone
There's something that still weighs on my heart.
Men and women who once wore this country's uniform are sleeping on its streets.
Others are sitting alone at night, fighting memories nobody else can see.
I know what that darkness feels like.
And I know how much a helping hand can mean.
That's why the mission of Praising Patriots is to support veterans facing PTSD and homelessness.
Our goal is to make every purchase part of something bigger: helping veterans find support, connection, and a safe place to call home.
Because serving your country shouldn't mean being forgotten when you return.
One Last Thing
I'm not a businessman at heart.
I'm an old veteran who likes making things with his hands. I still believe in a firm handshake, keeping your word, and looking out for the person beside you.
If you've served, thank you.
If you love someone who served, thank you for standing beside them.
And if you've chosen to support Praising Patriots, I hope you know how much that means.
We may not be able to change everything overnight.
But we can do something.
One bracelet. One helping hand. One veteran at a time.
No veteran fights alone. Not on our watch.
With respect and gratitude,
James Carter
